Is IBM Maximo still running in-house? Just like the underlying database, which you access directly from your asset management solution? In practice, we encounter this regularly. 1. Always the latest patches of IBM Maximo

IBM Maximo is a product that is rapidly evolving. Almost every month, there is an update of the software, both with security and management patches and functional improvements. Especially with a view to security, it is essential that you keep up to date, but it is of course also a shame not to make use of new possibilities. If you work with IBM Maximo in the cloud, you always have the very latest version. That happens automatically.

2. No investments, no management, but flexibility

This example shows how AI helps you work faster, smarter, and with fewer errors. You no longer have to search in folders, PDFs, or different systems. Everything stays within IBM MAS. The AI knows which asset is involved, which documents belong to it, and what is relevant at that moment, from technical documentation to certificates, safety regulations, work permits, and more. You save search time and can focus better on work preparation. And you always work with current and relevant information, which is also within easy reach. Your executing mechanics also quickly have access to information that helps them do their work easier and better. Both in preparation and during execution, AI delivers time savings – and you notice that directly in daily practice.

3. No more thinking about backups

We don’t need to tell you how important it is to have a backup of your server and database environment. So how nice is it if you don’t have to think about it? If you work with IBM Maximo in the cloud, you can also remove this from your list of headaches. Moreover, you no longer have to access your database directly. This can be done easily and securely via an API. That way, you don’t run the risk of accidentally losing vital data from your database.

4. Always insight into the performance of IBM Maximo in the cloud

What about the availability of your IBM Maximo environment? If it runs in the cloud, you can not only count on a guaranteed, optimal uptime. You are also sure that the performance is continuously monitored and you receive insightful reports on availability and any incidents.

5. Completely to the cloud or hybrid

There are several ways to go to the cloud with IBM Maximo. For example, you can opt for our managed services and let Gemba take care of everything. With IBM Maximo 7.6.1. you are in the Gemba Cloud, via our fixed hosting partner. Are you using IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS)? Then Gemba can relieve you of your worries, but also support you via cloud services from Microsoft, Amazon or IBM itself. With a virtual private cloud solution, you have your own, separate environment. A virtual private network (VPN) connection offers your employees secure access to this environment. Via single sign on, as they are used to, and for safety with multi-factor authentication if you want. Do you prefer to keep certain data in-house, for example, extra privacy-sensitive data? That is possible with a hybrid solution. You can always go completely to the cloud at a later stage.
